Discover Aviation Day
The Innisfail Flying Club is a proud member (Flight #130) and supporter of the Discover Aviation (formerly: COPA for Kids) Program for the last 20 years. The Canadian Owners and Pilots Association (COPA) mandate is to promote and support general aviation. To learn more click here Discover Aviation

The Discover Aviation program is designed to provide kids from Grade 6-8 an opportunity to learn and experience aviation first hand. Pilots volunteer their time, and their aircraft for each Discover Aviation event and get to share their passion for aviation with the kids.

The kids register and are scheduled in for short Ground School to learn about an airplane, aerodynamics, and how they fly. After a short safety briefing the kids then get to go for a 20 min flight and experience the wonderful world of flight in a small aircraft FREE of charge!
Mission
To provide an opportunity where members of the Innisfail Flying Club can share their passion for aviation with our local community and provide a perhaps once in a lifetime aviation experience for kids.

Our next Discover Aviation Day is scheduled for September 28, 2024 from 8am - 12pm at the Big Bend Airport.
